Tree Surgery and Assessment
Tree surgery is the practice of assessing tree health and providing suitable treatments to assist tree maintenance for the long term. There are many pests and diseases that can weaken a trees health, this is usually a symptom of other nutritional or injury issues.
Through maintenance and treatment of pests and diseases, a tree can live to it's optimum age and provide aesthetic and habitat value for many years. We carry out maintenance on trees with a long term vision for their care.
Tree surgery can involve a variety of treatments including:
1. Cambium grafting- this technique is used on suitable species where a mechanical wound on the tree has resulted in the significant loss of conductive tissue which may compromise the long term integrity of the tree. This technique has been employed sucessfully on significant and heritage listed trees.
2. Bracing and Cabling - this technique is used to brace branches together that may be in danger of falling or to pull retained trees off structures.
3. Propping -To stabilise significant trees via a permanent built structure usually involving a custom built galvanised steel frame.
4. Nutritional Supplementing - Absence of various trace elements and more common elements in soils are the cause of many other tree health problems. Lack of organic matter and other compounds are often implicated in poor tree health. Avaliability and access to nutrients is quite often the real reason behind lack lustre tree performance.
